Itinerary: Flying Singapore Airlines to Paris and travelling by coach in Northern France to Normandy then Rennes and Saint-Malo in Brittany and on to the Channel Islands for an in-depth 6 day tour visiting the islands of Jersey, Guernsey and Sark. In England the tour covers Dorset, Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and the Cotswolds. At the conclusion of the tour in London, tour members if they wish may stay on and depart later from any city in England or Europe serviced by Singapore Airlines for no additional cost subject of course to the availability of seats.
Highlights: As with all Australian Farmers Tours you will get off the tourist track visiting sheep, cattle - beef and dairy, horticultural and cropping properties. The tour has been designed as a business trip and as such the cost may well qualify as a tax deductible expense. To this end your Tour Leader, Don Howard will maintain a detailed daily diary for you to submit with your income tax return. However, it is not all work and no play as the tour includes leisure and sightseeing to provide a well-rounded itinerary visiting the battlefields of both World Wars featuring The Somme and the Normandy Landings as well as exploring Nazi Germany’s underground tunnels, underground hospital and historic fortifications in the Channel Islands. The English tour includes many areas of outstanding natural beauty plus much, much more.
Tour Leaders, Managers and Guides: Tour managers and guides Jeremy Kolbe, resident in France, and Englishman Michael Barker are both well known to hundreds of Australian farmers as for many years they have been managing and guiding Australian Farmers Travel overseas tours whereas Don Howard has had quite a diverse background in farming for the past 40 years. He recently sold his dairy farm and leased the beef farm and now lives in Ocean Grove Vic. Don started a Travel Tower Contracting business and ran that for 16 years in conjunction with both farms. In his early 40’s he was elected to the Murray Goulburn Co-op Board of Directors where he spent 16 years. Don together with his wife Kerrie have previously enjoyed three tours with Australian Farmers Travel to China & Inner Mongolia, Spain, Morocco and Portugal, a Central European Farming Tour and in 2019 Don and Kerrie led the highly successful Balkan Peninsula Farming Tour of Greece, Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro, Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Slovenia.
